7 Tips for Choosing a Baby Name.

7 Tips for Choosing a Baby Name.

A little bundle of joy is about to be in your arms a few months from now, but you haven’t got any possible choices for names yet. How do you capture your unique style, incorporate your spouse’s choices, and give your baby a name she’ll be proud to live up to? Use these easy tips to choose a baby name that will satisfy you, your child, and your spouse.
Tips for Choosing a Baby Name

1. Take time to think

What are you really looking for in a baby name? Do you want something traditional and close to your heart because of a beloved family member? Are you looking for an exotic, unusual name? Or would you rather use a name that isn’t of American nationality, so your child can be unique? Sit down with your spouse and get this part of the process over with. Let your spouse contribute his ideas, share your own, and think of a general category you want your baby name to fall under. Once you’ve done this, look up these types of names on the Internet and choose a possible few that sound promising.

2. Make a list

One organized document that contains all the names you’re considering is crucial. Computer documents work just as well as a notebook and pencil. Keep this list as organized and as easy to read as possible. If you’ve decided to be surprised by the baby’s gender, create different-colored tabs in your notebook for the boy name section and the girl name section. If you’re considering names from several different categories, create different sections in your computer document that consider names from each section. Let categorization be a major part of keeping your list organized, so it’s easy to flip to what you want to find.

3. Consult someone important

Sometimes, even you and your spouse aren’t enough to come up with the just-right name for your baby. Ask someone truly important to you who impacted your life and you know is an excellent advice-giver. Good choices include your parents, siblings, grandparents, or life-long friends you share the same taste with. Write down the good suggestions these people give to you and add them to your list.

4. Be thorough

Just because a name sounds beautiful rolling off your tongue doesn’t mean it’s the perfect one for your baby. Look up the meaning of the name and see if it is something you want your child to be named. It’s been said for centuries that baby names affect the child’s personality, and some degree of this is true—children live up to their names, so make sure you choose a name accordingly. The name “Sapphire” may produce a gorgeous visual in your mind, but does a blue gemstone exude importance, strength, and other moral values you hold dear? Check your outlining and see what kind of meanings you want your child’s name to hold.

5. Mix and mingle

A group filled with mommies-and-daddies-to-be can be just the right thing to help you choose your baby’s name. These women and men are going through the same experience you are, worrying about the same panic-inducing questions you are, panicking over the same situations you are. A person who you can relate to is more likely to offer good suggestions and tips, and they’ll take your concern in stride rather than brushing it off. And not only can these groups benefit you and your family, but you can have the chance to offer your wisdom, however limited, to another future parent as well. Groups for pregnant women and their husbands can be a great outlet to share your thoughts, express your worries, and glean some tips on how to name your child.

6. Consider middle names

You’ve looked through thousands of baby name dictionaries, consulted several people, and had so many meetings with your spouse your brain is starting to hurt from all the thinking. A few promising names are on your list, but they don’t sound quite right with your last name. Have you considered middle names? A name that you’d automatically reject might make a wonderful middle name for a first name you like. It could also be the other way around, with a name you thought weird making an excellent first name and a previously chosen name as the middle name. Throw middle names into the equation and see how this affects your search.

7. Trust yourself

If the names you like sound odd or don’t appeal to people around you, don’t let this stop you from adding them to the list! Trust your own thoughts and listen to your instinct. This is your baby, after all. Let yourself consider every name you like, whether or not it’s a popular choice among others. And if it’s the other way around, with several people pressuring you for one name that you’re not particularly fond of, tune in to your mind and reject it. Don’t be afraid to step out and choose a name that reflects your style.
With so many wonderful baby names out there, naming your baby is not an easy task. Consider all names you and your spouse like and don’t let anyone pressure you into a name you actually don’t like.

7 Ways to Motivate Your Kids to Go to School.

7 Ways to Motivate Your Kids to Go to School.

In the end of summer children usually feel sadness and you can’t change this because they must go to school, as we all did it. But, I can give you some tips that will help you to change their opinions. There are some ways to make them feel better, and I’m sure, as soon as their school buses come to them, they will run to school with pleasure!
Ways to Motivate Your Kids to Go to School

1. Tasty food for breakfast

We all don’t love to get up from the super cozy bed in the mornings, so you should create something really amazing for breakfast. Smell of fried eggs or very tasty fresh cooked waffles will get up your children better than anything else. They need to get a lot of useful for their organisms things from this type of meals. Only then they will work hard for a long time.

2. New school tour

If your child is going to go to the new school this year help them to adapt with this situation a little bit earlier. It’s really nervous to go through it, so you can ask their new teacher to show you both the new school and tell a little bit about their new classmates. So, when the first day comes, your child will be afraid less!

3. Party

It sounds really weird now, because usually everybody makes some parties in the end of the study year. But let’s update this tradition and make the new one! The new study year also is the reason to celebrate, so invite all your child’s friends and let them play together and have a lot of fun!

4. Knowledge

The main thing that your child gets from the school is the new knowledge. And of course it’s not really funny always, I’d like to say that usually it’s very boring. But you must motivate your baby to want to know more. You can try to create some safety experiments at your home or tell them what the great feelings you get when you learn something new. Or, for example, tell that when they learn how to write, they can write to anybody they really love (some celebrities from TV shows). Ask them what they learn from each school day and listen it very attentively.

5. Some mini gifts after school

Your children will be excited a lot if they know that they will get something special after school! They will study hard and try to get some good marks only for it, so you can motivate them this way!

6. New and old friends

Everybody loves to spend the time with their friends, but when holidays come, children can’t communicate with them all. The most of them go away with their parents in vacation; somebody needs to go to the camps or maybe to their grandparents. Also, a lot of children start working, when they get some free time. So, when study year comes back your child’s friends come back and they will meet without a peep. And some new pupils can appear at their classes, so they can meet some new friends! I think it’s really great idea to make your little ones want to school!

7. A lot of new things

Oh, I really love this one, because when I was in this age it was great to get a lot of new things to wear and to use in school. You should take your kids and went through some shops to buy them new clothes and special school things. And I’m sure, they will be very glad to show new purchases to their friends!
Sure, it’s really hard to come back to school after really lazy and fun holidays. So, I’m sure, my tips will help you to make them feel better at this period of year! Give it a try!

9 Useful Tips on How to Simplify Your Life Right after Birth of Your Child.

9 Useful Tips on How to Simplify Your Life Right after Birth of Your Child.

No matter how many children have you already given a birth to, you will have very hard times after your arriving from the hospital. Sure, if you have some helpers it will be easier for you. But if you are a single mom you should definitely know some tips on how to simplify your life right after birth of your child. Through years you will reminisce this time and in your memories it will be a really happy period, but you must prepare. So, I want to congratulate you with this great event and present you some tips on how to make your life easier!
Useful Tips on How to Simplify Your Life Right after Birth of Your Child

1. Give some time only for yourself

It’s really important to give some time only for yourself. You can’t be the best mother all time, you need to have a rest. If you don’t have enough time, I advise you to hire a sitter. Try to relax and don’t think about your responsibility. We all know that we can’t work always, we need to re-focus sometime, and it will help us to accumulate some powers.

2. Buy all things you will need

When you are at home yet you need to buy everything you will need, when you come back from the hospital. Stock up all paper products, household chemicals and non-perishable products to eat. Remember that you will need a lot of diapers and wipes, make yourself free of it and stock up these items for the long time!

3. Remember what helps your baby fall a sleep

Now we have a lot of “helpers” that can really make your baby sleep. Try them all and choose one way that is really useful. This is very important, because it will give you though 2-3 hours or, if the best happened, the whole night.

4. Route responsibilities

It doesn’t matter whether you have a lot of helpers or you are a single mom and have only one or two friends, you must route some deal between them. Someone should cook, someone must tend your baby while you have a shower or sleep a bit. Ask somebody to take a responsibility to go to shops, when you really need it. If they all exactly know what to do you will avoid a lot of problems.

5. Prepare something to watch

Of course there are a lot of things to watch on TV, but remember that your baby will wake up you at the different time of a day or night. And when you feed him or her you can catch only, for example, news or something like this. Record your favorite TV shows or some series and you will not be so sad to spend your sleepy time with your baby.

6. Prepare some food

After a hospital you will not have any time and energy to cook something, but food will be very important for you both. Think about yourself and prepare something for this busy period of time! You can cook it and froze, so you will have to only heat it. Even if you have a lot of helpers they will be busy too, because there are a lot of things to do around you. So, make your refrigerator and pantry full of some meals and you will avoid one headache.

7. Define what you really need

Try all known baby stuff that you have ever heard about and choose something you really like and want to use. Someone loves boppies while others absolutely don’t. Try to use a rocking chair; it can really help you, when you sleep.

8. Be ready for feeding

There are two ways of feeding: the breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. You need to be ready for both of them. For the first you must prepare some clothes, for example, a single button-up shirt. It helps you easy feed your baby. And if you choose the bottle-feeding, prepare several different bottles. Some babies are really picky, but you will not have enough time to buy the new one when you have already come at home.

9. Spread everywhere essential things

If you have a really big house, you must spread everything you need all around it. Don’t force yourself to run to the one place every time you need some diapers or wipes. If you have three floors, lay on every floor some baby stuff. It helps you avoid a lot of nervous situations and you will be a bit less tired in the end of the day.
Remember that your feelings after your baby birth only depend on your preparing of this time. Honestly, it is the greatest time ever, and you will have a lot of joy! So, how did you prepare for this period? Was it easy for you? Could you give us some tips?

9 Powerful Ways to Help Your Children Reach Their Goals in the Future.

9 Powerful Ways to Help Your Children Reach Their Goals in the Future.

When children grow up they usually begin to make plans for future and choose a profession they would like to get. But at this early age they are not experienced enough to make a good choice and all their dreams may turn out to be futile. Thus, it is important for all parents to respect their children’s decision and direct them onto the right career path. Remember that only your support and involvement will help your child to become successful and happy in their life. Consider the following tips to implement your child’s desires.
Powerful Ways to Help Your Children Reach Their Goals in the Future

1. Plan in advance

You ought to think of your child’s future in advance in order to avoid unwanted problems later. It would be useful for them to attend special courses when they are at high school. As a result, your children will be able to acquire knowledge and skills that are necessary for a particular occupation. This way they can obtain a degree so that it will be easier to find a job afterwards.

2. Explore the job description

Once you’ve decided on your child’s career, try to examine thoroughly the description of the job. When you know all the requirements you can pick out the most appropriate degree program for your child. The right option will allow them to gain the basic skills that are essential for their profession.

3. Choose the right college

You have to be very careful while selecting the best college for your child as it is a responsible step on the way to their success. First of all this educational establishment should fit his or her abilities and interests. Don’t forget about the job requirements. That is the most crucial factor that influences your choice of the college. It would be reasonable for you to get acquainted with the academic program and subjects that your child will study. Plus, you may also survey the progress of those who graduated from this college.

4. Consider experience requirements

If your children have some experience at a certain field, it will be beneficial for them and they will get more chances to fulfill their career goals. That’s why you need to look for a related job that will enable your child to try his/her proficiency. Perhaps, it’s not the job of their dream, but this is a wonderful opportunity to pave their way to great achievements and succeed in the selected industry. Moreover, your child can study and acquire experience at the same time.

5. Advanced degree programs

Certainly, employers are more interested in those graduates who have a master’s degree. Even if you lack experience, they will accept you eagerly since your degree characterizes you as a highly educated and proficient person. Due to this I recommend you to encourage your child to get a higher degree after their bachelor program. Good education is the main thing they need for further advancements.

6. Check if there are any internships

Today there are lots of colleges that offer internships to their students. So, you should assist your children to apply for them, if possible. This is an excellent way to practice in their favorite sphere of activity. The only thing you may not like about internships is the fact that they don’t pay a salary. However, experience is the most valuable quality for your child.

7. Review salary maximums

Undoubtedly, salary is one of those things that determine our career choice. A perfect job is the one that brings us enjoyment and a high salary as well. Unfortunately, it’s rather difficult to find such job these days. Still you should be aware of the maximum salary your child can earn while being engaged in the selected career. Sure, when they just start to work for the company, you can’t expect huge sums of money. But if they get a promotion, their salary will be increased anyway.

8. Examine the job market

It is impossible to reach the desirable results in a definite industry in case you don’t know how to examine the job market. Parents must teach their children to spot the most profitable regions for their career. Having gained recognition at one place, they can easily switch to a new highly-paid job that will provide prosperity to them.

9. Stay positive

Bear in mind that your emotional state has a great impact on your child. Therefore, you should do your best to cheer them up whatever happens. When children see their parents in a good mood, they will be inspired to attain their aim. Your praise is a splendid way to motivate them to continue their journey. They should be ready for different obstacles on their career path. Failure is not the reason to give up, it’s just a chance to take a new step.
Your child’s happiness and success mostly depend on your encouragement and approval of their dreams. When it comes to their future, you shouldn’t stay aside. It is the responsibility of all parents to help their children find the right way in life and to be near whenever they need. Your support and understanding will make them feel confident and they will reach their goals effortlessly. What do you usually do to inspire your children to fulfill their dreams?

3-Year-Old Asked To Leave Restaurant Because Some Awful Adults Couldn’t Deal With Her ‘Scary’ Scars.

3-Year-Old Asked To Leave Restaurant Because Some Awful Adults Couldn’t Deal With Her ‘Scary’ Scars.

victoria-wilcher-kfc-attackAdults of the world have got to learn that if they can’t look at a small child and smile at its adorable innocence, they should just butt the hell out completely. A small child’s appearance is in no way the business of strange adults, whether one is talking about Blue Ivy‘s hair sparking an Internet petition from concerned busybodies or the much worse case of a 3-year-old girl who was allegedly asked to leave a restaurant this week because scars on her face were bothering other customers.
According to Buzzfeed, 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher was mauled by three pit bulls just a few months ago. The attack left her seriously injured, with a broken upper and lower jaw, nose, cheekbone, and eye socket. She lost one eye in the attack, and one side of her face is paralyzed. Since the attack she has gone through multiple surgeries, and there are more in her future. Her story is awful and one would expect people around her to react with sympathy, but Wilcher’s grandmother recently said on the VIctoria’s Victories Facebook page that they were recently asked to leave a local KFC because Victoria’s scars were too disturbing to other diners.
“I ordered a large sweet tea and her some mashed potatoes and gravy because she was hungry. She was on a feeding tube at the time, but I figured she could just swallow [the potatoes],” said Wilcher’s grandmother, Kelly Mullins. “They said, ‘We have to ask you to leave because her face is disrupting our customers.’ [Victoria] understood exactly what they said.”
This poor girl has definitely been through enough. She should not be worrying about her appearance or hearing adults say that they are afraid of her. It should be inconceivable that any person would look at a little girl who had obviously sustained serious injuries and think it was OK to complain that her looks were disrupting their enjoyment of fried chicken.
KFC at least seems to agree that the story is appalling and unacceptable. Company spokesperson Rick Maynard issued a statement saying that the company was investigating the alleged incident to uncover what happened and who was responsible.
“We take this very seriously, as we have zero tolerance for any kind of hurtful or disrespectful actions toward our guests. Our investigation is ongoing, but we have been in touch with the family and are committed to doing something appropriate for this beautiful little girl and her family.”

Beyoncé and Jay Z Criticized for Blue Ivy's Hair.

Beyoncé and Jay Z Criticized for Blue Ivy's Hair in Ridiculous Change.org Petition.

Beyonce, Blue Ivy
Sasha Fierce is not going to like this.
A New York woman named Jasmine Tolliver is sparking controversy for creating a ridiculous Change.org petition requesting that music moguls Beyoncé and Jay Z to take better care of daughter Blue Ivy Carter's hair.
In the absurd appeal, titled "Comb Her Hair," she writes, "As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter A.K.A Jay-Z and Beyoncé has failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy Hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair."
Blue Ivy, Beyonce, Tumblr
Surprisingly, the offensive petition already has over 2,600 signatures, and many haters weren't shy about sharing their nasty opinions on the adorable 2-year-old's hairstyle.
"I hate when a mother looks like a million dollars with their hair all done and the child looks like they haven't seen a comb since they were born," one person wrote.
"Because no child who's mom spends thousands on her hair (monthly) should live life looking like a sheep!" another shared.

But, others responded to the insensitive petition with intense backlash for the shaming of an innocent toddler.
"This is completely unnecessary and whoever devised this petition is a moron, don't do anything Jay Z and Beyonce!" wrote one person.
"Maybe we need to petition for a life for Jasmine Tolliver," said another.
"Despite your PERSONAL views on little BLUE IVY's hair, some people actually use this (WEBSITE) for REAL LIFE situations. This is why OUR world is so F'd up because we WORRY about the wrong things," wrote an opponent of the petition.
Tolliver was accused of racism and bullying on her Facebook page. She responded to the criticism, defending herself and downplaying the situation by saying that it was all a big "joke."
"…if I would've said ‘sign a petition to save LeBron James hairline' that would've took off too! It's a clever joke! Nobody came up with before. These blogs and websites are doing the most. My hair looks like blue ivy right now except its moisturized and detangled. People make nothing out of something. I love being black! I'm proud my bloodline runs from Africa. I'm proud of my own tightly coiled kinks. I'm proud of my big lips and brown skin. People just need to breathe and chill out."
Maybe Tolliver should take her own advice and chill out.
Last month, the famous couple was involved in another Change.org petition, though far less outrageous. Just hours after the couple released a faux movie trailer to promote their upcoming On the Run concert tour, fans took to the website to request that Bey and Jay make a full-length feature film for "Run."

Appreciation on Father’s Day.

7 Ways Teenagers Can Show Their Appreciation on Father’s Day.

Teenagers aren’t children anymore so drawing dad a crayon picture of the family for Father’s Day isn’t as appropriate as it was years ago. While teens aren’t yet adults, taking dad out to lunch might not also be the most appropriate way to show him how much you appreciate him. Instead, try these simple ways to show your father how much he means to you on Father’s Day that are just right coming from a teenager.
Ways Teenagers Can Show Their Appreciation on Father's Day

1. Books and movies

If your father has a particular genre of movie he likes to watch, pick out a movie from this category and sit down with him to watch it. Does he like to read? Perhaps an ebook reader is in order. Many fathers appreciate being entertained by a good story and it’s all the more fun if he has someone to share it with.

2. Hobbies

Does your dad like fishing, woodworking, or mechanics? Offer to help him in his shop or go with him out on the lake. He’d probably appreciate the help and the quality time together. Is he more of an indoor dad? If he prefers computer coding, try learning his favorite programming language and ask for his help when you get stuck on something. He might enjoy helping you with the challenge.

3. Time

Most fathers don’t get a lot of time off. Instead of surrounding him with friends and family and food on Father’s Day, give him some peace. Let him lounge around in comfortable clothes and lose himself in an activity he enjoys.

4. Decorate his office

If you know someone at his workplace, bring some decorations to your father’s office to celebrate Father’s Day and remind him what a great dad he is. It wouldn’t be remiss to leave a letter on his desk putting it all into words.

5. Gesture

Whether you tell your dad how much you appreciate him through a hug, a note, some simple words, or a card, just tell him. Letting your dad know how much you love him and appreciate having him for a father on Father’s Day can be one of the best possible gifts to receive. It’s especially true during those awkward teenage years when some teenagers forget to appreciate their family members and end up feeling embarrassed by them every now and then.

6. Car

If your dad loves his car (and many fathers do), get it cleaned and detailed as a pleasant surprise. It’s not a gift he’s going to have to keep or put anywhere special. It’s not meant to last forever, nor does it tax his time or energy. It’s simply a present to help make his life a little easier… a little better. And what dad doesn’t want that on Father’s Day?

7. Enjoy time together

Father’s Day is a wonderful occasion to have lots of fun with your dad. Consider playing football, baseball or even golf. If Father’s Day will be a rainy day this year, bowling might be a good idea. No matter what you decide to do, make sure you and your dad have loads of fun.
Father’s Day is all about showing your dad how much you appreciate and love him. There are many ways to do that. I just mentioned a few ways

"She is only a few months along," one insider tells Us of the third-time mom-to-be, 35, who nonetheless has a pregnancy glow already. Says a guest at the Trump SoHo hotel, where the star stayed after returning to New York City from sister Kim's European wedding week in late May: "Kourtney looked really pretty. She had a nice flush on her cheeks." (Another telltale sign? During a double date with Disick, sister Khloe, and rapper French Montana in NYC, Kardashian abstained from drinking wine and sipped ginger ale instead.)
"It was planned," a source tells Us of the new addition, who will join older brother Mason, 4, and sister Penelope, 23 months. "[Kourtney] wants to have a handful of kids."
Indeed, Kim and Khloe's older sister joked on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians back in 2012 that she was done with birth control. "I need to see what it's like when I have two, but [having kids] is what life is about," she said at the time. "I'm not going on the pill. I don't believe in it anymore!"
The couple will welcome their new little son or daughter in December, a third insider confirms to Us. "They don't know the gender yet," the source says. "They just want the baby to be healthy."
For more details on Kourtney's baby joy—including her bouts with morning sickness, how the pregnancy news changed her relationship with Disick, and what (if any) plans they have for marriage—pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands Friday.

7 Tips for Dealing with Vegetarian Children.

7 Tips for Dealing with Vegetarian Children.

Do you have a vegetarian child? I know it can be very hard to adjust to your kid wanting to change their diet, and you may worry that they don’t get enough vitamins and other nutrients, but there is no need to worry! Here are a few useful tips for dealing with vegetarian children.

Tips for Dealing with Vegetarian Children

1. Stop worrying

Most parents believe that a meal should include meat, that’s why they start worrying when their children want to be vegetarians. There is no need to worry that your kid wants to become a vegetarian. Their new diet will definitely involve some changes, but it’s not the end of the world! So stop worrying!

2. Support your child’s choice

Perhaps, the most important tip for dealing with vegetarian children is to support their choice. Even if you don’t understand why they want to become vegetarian, that’s their choice, so try to respect it. If it’s just a fad, it might pass, but they’re more likely to be committed to not eating meat.

3. Be proud

If your child tell you that they want to give up meat, your first reaction may be fear or panic. But you should be really happy and proud of them. They might have thought about everything and come to the conclusion that they want to give up meat. Be proud that you’ve raised a child who reasons.

4. Cook together

Initially, vegetarian cooking might seem intimidating, because you are used to cook a ‘regular’ meal for your family. Why not get your vegetarian child to help out with the cooking? It can make things much easier! Cooking is an important skill that you have to teach your children anyway.

5. Have meat-free days

Nowadays a lot of families have meat-free days. If your objection to your vegetarian children is that you think it’ll be difficult to cook something different for them, why not cook a vegetarian meal for the whole family? That’s a really great idea, isn’t it?

6. Buy vegetarian products

There are a lot of vegan products available in many supermarkets, which can be good replacement to meat. Look for veggie burgers, sausages, steaks and mince. You can also look up some recipes and try to make your own delicious burgers or even sausages.

7. Look for vegan cookbooks

Today there are thousands of cookbooks for feeding vegetarian children. They are a perfect place to start if you are feeling completely lost, and they are a good source of useful information. Go to your local bookstore, order online or go to the wholefood store, which can also give you some tips.
When your children tell you that they want to become vegetarian, you might be worried or annoyed. But there is no need to worry about them! You will soon adjust to their new diet. Moreover, it’s not as difficult as it may seem at first.

5 Tips To Deal With Child Anger.

5 Tips To Deal With Child Anger.

Dealing with child anger can be frustrating and unrewarding. However, it can also lead to better parenting if it is handled in the right way. A recent survey showed that there was a pretty low success rate when dealing with this difficult area of parenting. In fact, more than half of the parents actually confessed to resorting to screaming, yelling, and banging doors. Physical and violent reactions are also common. A paper, published in the Journal of Psychopathology, revealed that 85% of adolescents had been spanked or beaten for bad behavior. Take a look at five tips for dealing with outbursts, temper tantrums, and child rage.
Tips To Deal With Child Anger

1. Staying calm and being there

Understandably, many parents just lose it because they are tired and impatient. They are also challenged in that they may be insulted or offended in some way. They may even be threatened with physical violence, in some cases. An angry reaction on the parent’s part will only fuel the flames and peace will be difficult to restore.
Instead, the experts recommend that they should be able to remain calm because using the same tactics as the child is disastrous and will result in chaos. After all, a calm reaction will be like a haven in a storm for the child. Lots of experts recommend that time out should not be used. They favor time spent with the child as calm is restored. In this way, the child does not feel hurt or abandoned.

2. Avoid a physical response at all costs

When an angry child starts to kick furniture, or even siblings and parents, he or she is reacting in a way which seems to be effective. It is certainly getting a reaction. If parents use physical violence, they will have little hope of empathizing with the child later on. Hostility will reign and peace will be even more difficult to restore. Reacting physically is one way of endorsing the child’s actions which is the exact opposite of what the parent wants. It is also ineffectual because it does not resolve the situation or help to restore calm. The parent has to be a role model.

3. Talking about how to react

Once peace reigns again, it will be important to talk about the episode. By empathizing with the child, he or she knows that the situation is noticed and understood. Teaching the child that there are different ways of reacting to anger is a great way to start.
First, ask for an explanation of what happened. Many parents never get round to this because they are suffering from their own fallout and nursing their own anger.
Then, elicit from the child the various ways of reacting to anger. With younger children, parents may have to explain all this in fairly simple terms.
Finally, illustrate different ways of behaving and dealing with anger. Some experts recommend looking at videos and seeing how children react. Talk about acceptable ways of dealing with rage and frustration.

4. Physical activities to reduce anger

Make sure that there are enough physical activities available. In this way, anger can be worked off in a harmless fashion. One simple game needs a wall in the yard and some wet rags. Children think of situations and people at school which infuriate them. They write these on the wall. Then, they are allowed to throw wet rags at their graffiti. It is a harmless activity and a useful valve for letting off steam. The parent reinforces the message that there are much more effective ways of dealing with angry moments.

5. Show how you deal with anger

Children are great at copying behavior. This is why parents have to show their kids how they themselves deal with anger. Talk about your frustration and irritation. Show him or her how you deal with it, without losing your temper or throwing the furniture around. Encourage the child to empathize with you when appropriate. Also, do not be afraid to show that you need some time out too. Some parents retreat to their car and let it all out there. Others find relief by hitting a pillow, again in private.
The biggest challenge is when parents feel enraged at their own children because the limit of their patience has been reached. This is the greatest test of parenting. By following the above five tips, parents will be able to manage their own and their children’s anger more effectively.

7 Essential Lessons You Should Teach Your Daughter.

7 Essential Lessons You Should Teach Your Daughter.

Parenting is certainly the most difficult job you will ever do. Raising a daughter presents more challenges. You want to raise a girl who is confident, has self-discipline and takes responsibility. As a mother, you must teach your daughter many important life lessons. Here are some of the most essential lessons…

Essential Lessons You Should Teach Your Daughter

Lesson 1: Value herself

One of the essential lessons you should teach your daughter is that she must value herself. She must feel that she’s worth enough achieving great things. She must have the confidence to say ‘no’ to any pressure. You should also teach your daughter that she must only have a relationship with a man when she’s completely ready, and she shouldn’t send revealing pics of herself to anyone.

Lesson 2: Be financially independent

I think this is extremely important lesson to teach your child these days. Teach your daughter that she should be financially independent. She need never depend on a man or wonder where the money is coming from. Explain to her every aspect of money matters. This way it will be easier for her to deal with life’s challenges.

Lesson 3: Value her body

There are many girls who feel that there’s something wrong with their physical appearance. These girls find fault with every part of their body and their negative body image can affect their entire life. Teach your daughter that she must be happy with what she has and show her how to feel confident about her looks. She must not let mean comments affect her, or compare herself to media images.

Lesson 4: Intelligence lasts longer than looks

Explain to your daughter that she doesn’t have to buy in to the message that looks are all for a woman. Show her that her mind is much more important and will take her further in life. Teach her that intelligence lasts much longer than looks.

Lesson 5: How to do DIY

Teaching your daughter how to do DIY is very essential and useful, since she will be able to cope with car repairs and basic household. Be sure to teach your daughter how to cook, so that she can prepare a healthy meal and avoid prepared meals.

Lesson 6: Work for what she wants

It’s important to teach your girl that nothing comes free. She shouldn’t expect anything to be given to her. She must work for what she wants. Most adults expect their parents to subsidize them, so explain to your daughter that it’s wrong. Sure, you might want to help her out, especially if she hits difficult times, but teach her independence. Don’t allow her to assume that she can treat you as a bank.

Lesson 7: Equal to men

Your girl must know that women and men are equal in every way. Whatever a man does, she can do. She can be whatever she wants because there is no profession that is closed to her. She can fly a plane, play sports, and be completely independent. However, explain to her that she should respect a man as her equals, too.
Some of these lessons you should teach all your children, not only daughters. One of the most important things is to teach your daughter to be confident and independent. What lessons do you wish your mom or dad had taught you? Share your thoughts, please.

5 Ways to Deal with Your Child’s Attitude Problems.

5 Ways to Deal with Your Child’s Attitude Problems.

All parents deal with their child’s attitude problems from time to time. But if you feel absolutely overwhelmed by your child’s behavior problems and no matter how much you try, nothing seems to work, check out these five ways to deal with your child’s attitude problems.

Ways to Deal with Your Child’s Attitude Problems

1. Become a good role model

Perhaps, the best way to shape your child’s behavior is to become a good role model for them, since children usually imitate their parents. By setting a good example, you can show how your child can stay calm even when tensions are running really high.

2. Walk out

The next time your child talks back or talks rudely, leave the room saying that you don’t want to be spoken to like that. You should understand that children use talking back as one of the ways to push their parent’s buttons and get a reaction out of them. However, this definitely wouldn’t be the reaction your child must be expecting from you.

3. You are on their side

You should remind your child that you have only the best interests of them at heart and you are just trying to help them. Tell them that parents are not enemies of the children. Reinforce your love for your child by making them understand that the two of you are actually on the same side.

4. Talk to other people

Talk to other people who know your child well and interact with them very often. Talk to older siblings, babysitter, school teachers, coaches, and know their opinion on your kid’s behavior. Does your child behave with them the same way or is it only restricted to you? Ask them what the cause of the problematic behavior is and what suggestions they have. Working together will ensure faster and more effective results.

5. Seek help

If your child’s bad behavior begins posing a threat to them or involving violence, it is time to seek help. Contact a pediatrician or the school’s guidance counselor. Trust me, seeking help isn’t a sign of your inability to control your child. It shows that you are really concerned about your child and you want to find a way to make them adjust better. So feel free to ask for help! You do it for your child!
If your child has attitude problems, you should handle it the right way.

7 Things That You Should Never Say to Your Step-Children.

7 Things That You Should Never Say to Your Step-Children.

Step-parents learn some life lessons every day. They go through a lot of difficult situations that teach them what they should never say and why not. Everybody knows that each child can be very nervous, angry and mischievous, but when it is your step-child you need to control yourself more than usually. The reasons of this behavior can be really different, but you should keep calm anyway. I have a lot of life practice at the role of step-mother, so I can give you some tips that will definitely help you.
Things That You Should Never Say to Your Step Children

1. Love them all equally

If you are going to get pregnant when you have already had one step-child, don’t make him/her feel less love. Share your love equally, they both need it. If you spend all day with your biological child, the next day should be only for you and your step-child. I know, it will take a lot of your time, but don’t forget this was your choice. Remember, your “own” child initially have more “rights” to your attention, don’t let you step-child feel him-/herself unwanted.

2. Don’t let them dominate over you

If your step-children have not been already children, don’t let them become pushover. There is some discipline in each family and everybody needs to follow these rules. I understand that you want them to like you, but you must not let them be impunity. If their father said that they need to do something, don’t do them free of it. If he forbids them eating sweets before dinner, don’t let them eat some. Anyway, you are a parent and you have this force too, make them follow all rules. If you must say “No” in no case say “Yes”.

3. Don’t discipline them too much

Your children must respect you the same way with any other adults. But if you feel they do something wrong and you understand they will not hear you, the best way will be to call your spouse. If you begin the altercation, you will regret it in the end. Don’t let them say these offensive words:” I will not follow you, you are not my real parent!” Give them all support, love and attention you have, but you don’t need to argue with them in any other ways. The best way will be your spouse’s support. Tell children, their father forbade them playing somewhere or watching TV, for example.

4. Don’t berate their biological parent

Whatever you think about the “real” parents of your step-child, never say bad words about them. Even if you feel that children hate or resent them. This should be the main thing in your relationship. Don’t let yourself humiliate birth parents, even if they deserve it. Anyway, remember, you are an adult and you need to be like a role model.

5. Never try to be the same

There are two sides of being the same. Do not overdo in your role! On the one hand, they think you are cool, and they will come to you to ask some advice. But on the other hand, they may decide they can do whatever they want. Don’t let them think this way. You are their friend, but don’t be the one of them, this role will damage your parent potential.

6. Don’t be jealous of their “pre-you” life

I know, you have already heard some words like “Do you remember?” or “You know, this is a family tradition!” I’m so sorry, it’s really hard, because you have your own traditions and memories, but keep calm and relax. Accept the fact that they had the life before you, but try to full the present time with your feelings, experiences and traditions. Never try to get rid of some things from their past, don’t feel some sadness because of it. Remember, some time your step-children will share with their own families your both memories.

7. Three’s a crowd

Don’t let your child feel some loneliness. If you and your husband are going somewhere to be alone, don’t forget about him or her. It’s really hard to feel yourself unwanted. I know you are like any lovers need some time only for you two. And I’m sure, you will find some time for this. Take your child with you on your weekend and once she or he will understand that you need some time to be alone. Remember, children grow up quickly, so share your happy time with them.
Don’t worry, I have had a lot of difficult times with my step-children, but I did it! Now, we have the best relationship ever and we really love each other!

Well, what about your kids? Do they love to come back to their study?

7 Tips for Raising Healthy and Happy Children.

7 Tips for Raising Healthy and Happy Children.

When it comes to raising healthy and happy children, every one of us wants to do our best, but you may be wondering, “Where do I even start?” Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve put together some useful tips to raising healthy and happy children to get you in the right direction.
Tips for Raising Healthy and Happy Children

1. Keep them active

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of allowing children stay entertained by the computer, video games, and TV. But if you want to raise healthy children you should keep them active. Set aside time every day to get some physical exercise for you and your children. For instance, go for a walk to your local park or play a game of tag in your backyard. Moreover, plan some special family time that won’t involve watching TV.

2. Feed them well

Good nutrition is essential to children’s mental and physical health as well as development. But sometimes it’s difficult to feed children healthy foods, especially if you have picky eaters. Never expect your children to eat a whole grain bread or healthy salad if you munch on fried food and potato chips. Cook only healthy meals for the whole family.

3. Talk about smoking, alcohol and drugs

Encourage your children to never smoke and teach them the dangers of drugs and alcohol. If you smoke, then talk to your children about the negative effects of smoking on your health. Ask them to help you quit smoking and do your best to quit. You should also teach your children about safe drinking and the dangers of drinking and driving.

4. Keep them safe

What is the point of having healthy and happy children if you are not keeping them safe? You must teach your kids about stranger danger. Also, make sure your kids wear the protective gear for sports as well as outdoor activities. As you drive make sure your children are properly secured in the car.

5. Be real and honest

As I mentioned above, it’s important to talk to your kids about the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and drugs. First of all you need to keep the discussion age appropriate. Also, be real and honest. If you are honest your children will understand you better.

6. Team player

While regular outdoor play is good, children should also be a part of a team. So try to find out what kinds of activities your children enjoy and what your community has to offer. Perhaps it will take several tries but finally you and your children will find the perfect activity to join. My son and daughter tried dance and soccer before they both fell in love with swimming.

7. Live a healthy lifestyle

If you want healthy and happy children you should live a healthy lifestyle as well. Your children are more likely to do what you do, not what you say. That’s why you have to eat right and lead a healthy lifestyle if you want your kids to eat right and lead a healthy lifestyle. If you want your kids to develop healthy relationships you should show them examples of such. Never think your children are not watching you. In fact, children are paying attention to everything their parents say and do.
Every parent wants their kids to be healthy and happy and it’s important to be a positive example for healthy living in the child’s life. Keep in mind that you have to keep an open line of communication with your children and talk about issues that concern us all. Do you have any tips for raising healthy and happy children? Feel free to share them.

Valid Reasons to Send Your Child to a Boarding School

1. Plenty of activities

Most boarding schools offer many extra-curricular activities, which give kids the opportunity to explore all their talents and skills. At home, your child is mostly glued to the video-game or television, but at a boarding school, they will do things that hone their talents at something useful. Boarding schools offer plenty of inventive activities, beyond music, sport and creative arts.

2. Discipline

You know, discipline is extremely important for children. Disciplining children is actually important to their mental and physical health. Sometimes parents can’t be much strict with their children. You love your child and pamper them in all regard. If you have a spoilt child, a boarding school will help you and teach your kid the essential lesson of discipline.

3. Rules

One of the reasons to send your child to a boarding school is because it teaches to abide by the rules. Each school as well as every other part of our life has some rules and regulations. Being at a boarding school will teach your kid the importance of following the rules.

4. Home

Sometimes it can be difficult for parents to look after their kids. It could be because of work or any other reason. Some parents work a lot and they can’t afford to hire a nanny, that’s why they usually send their kids to a boarding school. Also, sometimes it becomes difficult for parents to drag their children along and settle over and over again. A boarding school is the perfect option for such parents. 7 Ways to Help Your Child Overcome Shyness.

7 Ways to Help Your Child Overcome Shyness.

Looking for some ways to help your child overcome shyness? Being a parent, it can be difficult to observe your child’s shyness make them worried and restrained. Shyness is hard to overcome, and a lot of children become shy adults. Check out the list of 7 best ways to help your child overcome shyness.
Ways to Help Your Child Overcome Shyness

1. Listen

Since kids are entitled to opinions, we should listen to them. Ask if they are upset with anything; activities that you might think fun, like classes and communicating with others, can be difficult for your child. Find out what would they actually like to do and what would make things easier for them.

2. Drama

It might seem a little weird but one of the best tips to help your shy child is to register them in a drama group or class. You can think that it’s a strange choice for shy children, but it can be easier for some act as someone else than being themselves. This can’t help everyone, but it’s worth asking your child if they’d like to try – if they love to be on a stage they may overcome their shyness.

3. Don’t be critical

Sometimes parents can become irritated with their child’s shyness, peculiarly if they themselves were unsociable when young. Don’t be critical of your child and getting disappointed with them. It will make them think they are a disappointment to you and will feel critised. This will just make them even less contented than they already are.

4. Don’t try to change them

All children are unique, so don’t try to change them. You probably know that being shy will restrain them and that they couldn’t achieve their full potential. Though, it won’t help if you try to make your child more social. On the contrary, help them to get over their shyness step by step.

5. Encourage

Sometimes children throw themselves into everything without thinking twice. But shy children may find new activities (and familiar ones) very hard to experience. Try to provide your child with as much encouragement as you can and avoid putting them into situations they’re awkward with.

6. Don’t push

Avoid to force a shy child doing anything that makes them uneasy. I try to forget those memories of being pushed to go to swimming classes with a teacher who bullied me. I must confess, I don’t like swimming even today. It’s better to encourage your child, not force.

7. Rehearse

Coming back to the drama theme … If your child is anxious about a coming event, such as beginning a new school, you may help them with a practise session. All we practised a job interview with a friend, so try the same and be that friend to your child. When they’ve practised, they may discover that their fear is lowered, and they will feel more ‘accustomed’ to the situation.
All parents are anxious about their shy child, but let them get over it in their own good time. Delicate encouragement is a lot better than casting them in the deep end. Shy children need to get confidence facing with new situations and other people. Imagine, how we all feel worried about beginning something new – children can experience just the same. If you were shy, which tip would you like to try first? Do you have any other ways to help a child overcome shyness? Please share them with us!

7 Tips for Studying When You’re a Mother.

7 Tips for Studying When You’re a Mother.

Everybody knows that being a parent is not an easy task to do. If you really want to become a successful mother you should possess lots of positive qualities. But you should always remember the most important characteristics of a caring parent: responsibility, patience and hard work. Surely, that is rather difficult. For some parents things can become even more complicated when they decide to study at university. I also had such an experience in my life. It was quite challenging as I didn’t know any special tips for studying when you are a parent. During my first year at the university I gave way to despair. All my efforts were dwindled down to nothing. Later I realized that I lacked certain organizational skills. When I was in my final year everything changed and I could manage to be a successful student and a parent at the same time. Now I can even advise you some helpful tips for studying as a student parent.
Tips for Studying When You’re a Mother

1. Keep Calm

I must say you are really a courageous person if you made up your mind to earn a degree being a parent. First of all you shouldn’t panic. Your worries will only prevent you from studying and as a result you won’t be able to manage with a degree and children. Don’t be nervous, leave all your fears behind and you will handle all your duties. Remember that you are not the only person who must combine studying and parenting.

2. Get Information about an Extension Policy of Your University

In summer, when I was a student, a splendid idea came to my mind. I made a decision to organize an extension for myself. It can be really helpful for parents who study. I must admit it wasn’t as easy as I imagined. That was extremely complicated process. I had to deal with lots of documents and medical certificates. In spite of all the difficulties I managed to cope with this task. After that, some of my friends who studied asked me for help when they also wanted to organize an extension. As my experience showed, it’s necessary to learn all the information concerning an extension policy if you want to use it.

3. Make Friends

It doesn’t mean that you will obviously find the best friends among those people who study together with you. Simply you should make some connections. Don’t neglect communication with your classmates. You can add them to your Facebook profile or other social networks. Perhaps these people won’t become your closest friends but you can turn to them whenever you miss a class and need some notes or information.

4. Emphasize Your Responsibilities

Fortunately, all my teachers at the university had children, so they could easily understand my troubles. Sometimes it happened that I went to classes almost without sleep when my child was ill and I had to wake up so many times during the night. Surely, my professors knew the reason of my exhaustion. If you are a young mom, you should definitely establish firm ties with your university teachers, especially it is important when you have an extension. In such case a personal tutor will organize and control your learning process. If one knows the peculiarities of your family life, it would be easier to assess your progress in studying. Moreover, professors can help you whenever you have some problems.

5. Submit Your Work Beforehand

That is one of the most essential recommendations that you should always keep in mind. Aim to complete your assignment some time before the deadline. Certainly, it will be a hard work and you must be organized in order to cope with it. Having done your task beforehand, you’ll be able to avoid all the emergencies when your child suddenly gets ill. You’ll be prepared anyway. This piece of advice will help you to succeed on extensions either. The ability to manage your time correctly is an indispensable part of your successful studying when you are a parent.

6. Read in Advance

There are lots of professors which usually bother their students with pre-reading lists. I’m sure you also know a few of them. If you listen to your teacher’s recommendations, you’ll see how efficient they are. If I were you I would never ignore these requirements. Only those students who don’t have children can put until tomorrow what they can do today. But you don’t have another choice as to read everything beforehand. If you read before your deadline, you will have time to clear up everything you haven’t understood. Besides, you won’t have to hustle in the crowded library trying to get the necessary book.

7. Try to Stay Longer in a College

At the beginning of my studying I was completely broken down with all the responsibilities I had. At that time, I tried myself as a freelance writer. It’s difficult to imagine but I didn’t have free time at all. Though I learnt to plan everything earlier and do my work quickly. When I went to the college I tried to stay there as long as possible. After classes I attended the library and read books till late hours. Other days I worked and in the evenings took care after my child.
You can be sure that being a student and a parent at the same time is really very difficult. Still it is possible. Don’t be afraid to make this responsible choice in your life. Anyway you are not alone, your family and close people will always help you in different situations. What you need is proper management of your time and responsibilities. Remember that your time is very precious for you. If you are a student parent, please tell us how you cope with lots of work in your life
