Singer Kefee Obareki Don Momoh passed away this morning June 13th at the US hospital where she was taken to after she collapsed and went into coma.

 

Her UK publicist just confirmed her death in an official statement which reads:- On behalf of the family….It is with a great sadness but grateful hearts that we announce the passing to glory due to lungs failure this morning of our God’s mouth piece, chorus leader, daughter, wife, sister, friend Kefee Branama Queen … May her beautiful, gentle and precious soul rest in perfect peace. Amen!!
PS: In contrast to all earlier rumors and stories in circulation, I do state that Kefee wasn’t 6 months pregnant and neither did she have pre-eclampsia.

I only asked a question oh! Rumours have been circulating on social networking-sites that award winning gospel singer, Kefee Obareki Don-Momoh, who collapsed after embarking on a 14-hour flight to Chicago for an event a fortnight ago, is dead. A few days back, her doctors revealed that her chances of survival was slim as her situation does not only require prayers, but a miracle. Later I read on Kemi Filani's Blog that she is awake from her coma. And then this came out today! GOD!

UPDATE - She's actually dead. May her Soul RIP.

Suspected Boko Haram fighters dressed as troops killed at least 200 people in three villages on Monday, witnesses say.

Boko Haram fighters dressed as soldiers have killed at least 200 civilians in three communities in northeastern Nigeria, witnesses have said. A community leader, who witnessed the killings three days earlier, said on Thursday that residents of the Gwoza local government district in Borno state had pleaded for the military to send soldiers to protect the area after they heard that the fighters were about to attack, but help did not arrive. It took a few days for survivors to get word of the massacres to Maiduguri, the provincial capital, because travel on the roads is extremely dangerous and phone connections are poor or nonexistent, the AP news agency reported. The killings in Attagara, Agapalawa and Aganjara villages were confirmed by both Mohammed Ali Ndume, a senator representing Borno and whose hometown is Gwoza, and by a top security official in Maiduguri. He insisted on anonymity, because he was not allowed to speak to the media. Years of violence Fighters from Boko Haram, which wants to establish Islamic law in Nigeria, have been taking over villages in the northeast, killing civilians and political leaders. Thousands of people have died in the five-year-old conflict, more than 2,000 so far just this year, and an estimated 750,000 Nigerians have been driven from their homes. The military has insisted that a big influx of troops, and a year-old state of emergency in three states - which gives them the power to detain suspects, take over buildings and lock down any area - has helped counter the group. Ex-Kogi State Governor Ibrahim Idris Wife Slumps and Dies.

The wife of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, a former governor of Kogi State, Hajiya Zainab Idris is dead. She was said to have slumped and died while about performing the early morning Islamic prayers on Saturday.

    Hajiya Zainab's sudden death was a great shock to both her family members and residents of the state as she was said to have appeared healthy on Friday night before her shocking demise on Saturday. 

She has been buried according to Islamic rites amidst encomiums and eulogies. May her soul rest in peace!

Ex-Oyo State Governor Rasheed Ladoja’s Son, Adebola Ladoja Dies In Fatal Auto Crash, In Lagos (PHOTOS).

According to Punch: A former Governor of Oyo State, Rasheed Ladoja, on Thursday lost one of his sons in an auto crash on the Eko Bridge in Lagos.

The deceased, identified as Adebola Ladoja, was driving a Golf saloon car, marked, AKD 107 CJ, and was said to be on his way to Lagos Island when a Daf truck, with number plate, JJJ 59 XA, driven by one Justice Oseghai, rammed into his car on the Eko Bridge.

An eyewitness said the driver of the Daf truck, who was on top speed, lost control of his vehicle, rammed into the median of the bridge, before he eventually crashed into the deceased’s car. He said, “It took several hours before the victim could be rescued from the wreckage of the vehicle. He was trapped behind the wheels with blood gushing out of his head.”

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident, added that it occurred at about 3.30pm. She said, “At about 3.30pm on the Eko Bridge, Lagos Island, a Daf truck with number plate, JJJ 59 XA, driven by one Justice Oseghai, ran into a Volkswagen Golf saloon car, marked, AKD 107 CJ, driven by one Adebola Ladoja, the son of a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja.

“The victim died on the spot. The corpse has been removed to the Lagos Island General Hospital mortuary for autopsy while the truck driver has been arrested.” Some friends of Adebola took to Facebook to mourn the deceased

One of them, Kiri Phoenix Gray, wrote, “Omg I’m in such shock to find out my friend Dee CaKe Ladoja is no longer with us. I’ll never forget what such an amazing friend you were to me Dee and the only person I had when I first moved to London. I’ll miss you so much and I regret all the times we said we needed to catch up recently and didn’t. It was only a couple of weeks ago since we spoke and I won’t forget that conversation.

Another friend, Folarin Amosu, wrote, “Adebola Ladoja, my aburo, my good friend and ex colleague, Just heard the sad news about your accident that led to death. Why bro??? Still saw you two weeks ago when you visited me, we had a lovely time laughing and sharing business ideas.

‘‘You are the true legend Debola. Personally you will always be in my heart and I will always miss you.”
