10 Medical Checkups You Should Do.

For Ladies
• Breast examination (mammogram): Should be done to check for lumps. This helps to detect cancer early and also reassurance that your body is void of cancerous cells.
• Blood pressure: This could be low pressure or high pressure; it should be done at least once every five years but with age, the frequency of the blood pressure exam increases.
• HIV: Whether you are sexually active or not, get tested for HIV at most once a year.
• Cholesterol test: High cholesterol levels affect the functionality of the heart and should be checked once every five years.
• Full gynecologist exam: Pap smear, HPV, pelvic exam should be done twice a year for sexually active females.
• Dental checkup: Oral hygiene is mandatory for you can be judged based on how well your teeth are taken care of; so it’s advised to visit your dentist 2/3 times a year.
For Men
• Prostate: The health of the prostate needs to be measured regularly to prevent cancer, it should be done every few years but as one ages it may increase to an annual or biannual check.
• Eye tests : Eye tests are important to check the functionality of the eyes and also correct defects so its advised that before age 40,an appointment with should be booked every two to four years and From age 40 to age 54, every one to three years.
• Fecal occult blood test: This aims at checking for colon cancer, it should be done once a year after the age of 40.
• Electrocardiogram: is a test which measures the electrical activity of your heart, it also records the heart’s rhythm and activity. For those around the age of 40, it’s advised yearly.
