"Maleficent" Tops the Weekend Box Office.

 

 

Friday's box-office numbers are in, and it looks like Maleficent is a hit. The Angelina Jolie Disney flick took in almost $25 million last night and looks like it will hit $65 million by the end of the week. Another hotly anticipated opening, A Million Ways to Die in the West, didn't do so hot.
Unlike Seth MacFarlane's last movie, Ted, which was the top-grossing R-rated comedy ever, the Western pulled in a very disappointing $6 million. It cost $40 million to make. Here are the rankings:
1. Maleficent
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past
3. A Million Ways to Die in the West
4. Godzilla
5. Neighbors.
